Castle Vale House

We welcome you to our family home at Castle Vale House. We are just a mile off the A1 and very conveniently situated right next to the railway station. There are spectacular views of the River Tweed and the Royal Border Bridge from the house and garden. It is only ten minutes' walk along the main street to the town centre or fifteen minutes' stroll using the scenic path down through Castle Dene Gardens and along the riverside.

We offer three bedrooms for B&B:
The Tweed View: a large king-size/twin room on the ground floor with en-suite shower room. Its two windows overlook the lovely garden and the river. £60-£75 per night based on two sharing.

The Royal Border Bridge: a large double room on the first floor with en-suite shower room. This has the most stunning view up the river through the famous railway bridge. £60-£75 per night based on two sharing.

The Constable Tower: a lovely light and airy first floor double ensuite room, overlooking the river and the castle ruin.

Breakfast is served in the dining room. This is a spacious yet cosy room lined with books and pictures where guests can enjoy a tasty cooked breakfast served with home baked bread.

We have a friendly collie dog called Jeannie who is very gentle both with children and adults.

Berwick is a town steeped in history. A walk around the Elizabethan walls is a must for the first-time visitor, followed by a visit to the Berwick Museum or the Main Guard to find out more about the town's past.

Take a walk along the pier or around the golf course. Go fishing in the rock pools. Follow the Lowry picture trail. Pop in to one of the many cafes for a bite to eat. Amble along Spittal's lengthy promenade or dare to take a dip in the North Sea. Spend an evening at the Maltings Arts Centre and watch a play or a film or some live music. Visit Alnwick Castle and Gardens, or drive along the coastal route to see Bamburgh and Warkworth Castles. Relax in the train for a 40 minute ride to Edinburgh or Newcastle. There are so many things you could do when you choose Berwick as your centre for a few days away.
