Gables Cottage The Bach
More than just a 'B&B', the fully self-contained Bach comprises en-suite shower room accommodation arranged to include a sitting and dining area - plus - kitchenette. Externally there is a patio with furniture and a brick built BBQ. A rear store provides convenient storage for bicycles and luggage.
Facilities include tea and coffee making, flat screen digital TV and DVD, hair dryer, iron and a fully equipped kitchenette should you simply fancy 'an evening in'.
The village is served by two pubs each offering home cooking and real ales, a shop and railway station (5 minutes to Stratford-upon-Avon and 55 minutes to Birmingham). An easy one-hour walk along the Stratford canal delivers you into the heart of the town.
In close proximity is a good selection of country pubs and, within 10 minutes drive is Stratford-upon-Avon, with its range of shopping, tea rooms, restaurants, inns, river trips and town walking tours, not forgetting the Theatre and Shakespeare Birthplace Trust properties.
Again within 10 minutes drive is the Roman market town of Alcester, or, within 15 minutes, is Henley-in-Arden each offering an alternative selection of leisure facilities.
The Guide Friday sightseeing tour, visiting all the Shakespeare properties, calls at Mary Arden's House (Shakepeare's mother) and Palmer's farm in the village where the open-top bus tour may be joined.
Further afield, but all within one hour's drive, are the Cotswolds and the Vale of Evesham, Warwick and Kenilworth castles, Coventry Cathedral and the NEC.
