Mere is just off A303, where Wiltshire, Somerset & Dorset meet and has long been a stopping off point for travellers. It has a number of amenities (shops, pubs, dining, take away etc).
Ideal location for Stourhead, Longleat, Salisbury, Stonehenge, Wincanton Racecourse, Bath and Yeovilton.

Rooms are non-smoking, modern in style, and are located across small courtyard from pub at 1st floor level - looking out at rear garden. Each has bath with power shower over. Rooms can accommodate up to three people each.

Breakfast (cooked) is taken in a small breakfast dining area adjacent to the bar area, looking out toward the front.
Smoking is currently allowed in the courtyard.

Double room has kingsize bed, and a further 6x3 ft single bed.
Twin room has 3 6x3 ft single beds, and can thus be used as a triple.
All rooms are available for single occupancy.

Attractions & activities:
Mere is a delightful village with a population of 2500 approx. There is a square with a number of facilities, and churches nearby. There is also a small museum and tourist information point (check for times on 01747 861211). Find information about local attractions & activities such as clay pigeon shooting, golf, fish farm, bison centre, walking the Wiltshire Downs, Alfred's Tower, and the castle that once dominated the area (the site of which is 200 yards behind the pub, and well worth the climb to take in the views of 3 counties). There is also a playground, nature trail, viewing point and monument nearby.
