Ye Olde Black Cross
Ye Olde Black Cross - this beautiful building was built in 1640 and oozes charm with its period features including a 20ft well just in front of the serving bar in the lounge area. King Charles II stopped by, dressed as a farmers boy, to get his horse reshod whilst trying to escape.
We are reported to have the Ghost of a soldier who still walks the side passageway trying to find the King.
A wide and varied choice of Cask Ales, lagers and ciders are available in the bar or lounge areas.
At the rear of the property you will find a secure car park and lovely beer garden, ideal for those warm summer evenings.
Two of the letting rooms sit above the original building and have that same wonderful charm with their original beams.
