Charming B&B in the hearth of French Riviera
Le Cheneau is an owner-occupied private host home in a large Provence style house with a big terrace faced on a shaded private quiet park, located between the old village of Valbonne (16th century) and the new Sophia Antipolis Sciences park and at 5 min drive from the Antibes and Cannes entries, 10 min from Grasse.
Three comfortable, well-kept sunny guest rooms in different colours, with self-contained entrance, each with private bathroom and toilets. Free covered car parks inside the property. Good breakfasts served on the terrace in summer or a period furniture dining room in winter if not warm enough outside. It is only 20 minutes drive from the beaches, pleasure harbours, Nice and Cannes / Mandelieu international airports.
Numerous sea, country, mountain sports activities nearby, 10 golf courses within 7 km radius, equestrian centres 10 km away, museums, casinos and many tourist sites and gastronomic restaurants in the neighbour. Le Cheneau is ideally situated to discover the French Riviera Cote d'Azur from Monaco and Italy to Saint Tropez and for high quality stay with nice and warm welcome.
The 10 Essentials
If you have only a short time to visit the Riviera, or would like to get a really complete picture of the region, here are the essentials:
Bask in the sun on one of the Riviera's sandy beaches, or relax under the shade of a classic striped parasol.
Visit the cours Saleya market in Nice, and treat yourself to a picnic of goat's cheese, tomatoes, olives and local wine.
Promenade the waterfront at St-Tropez in your finery, admiring its ostentatious yachts and gin palaces (…and don't forget your trendy sunglasses!).
For me, the Riviera is all this and much, much more. For there is another side to the region that is easy to miss - a douceur de vivre that is hard to imagine in the midst of the coast-courting tourist hordes. Head inland to the hidden valleys and wild Alpine scenery, where the air is fragrant with the perfumes of Provence, to discover a great wealth of sleepy villages among countryside painted with all the vivid colours of Picasso, Renoir and Matisse.
The Riviera is a region of great contrasts that caters for all tastes with an endless choice of enticing destinations, a robust local cuisine and an exceptional heritage. Combine all this with a climate that boasts 300 days of sunshine a year, and who can resist a holiday here?
