Le Phénix Chambres dHôtes
Le Phénix is a beautifully and totally renovated maison de maitre (manor house) in the Tarn Valley about 6km outside the medieval town of Rabastens - South France.
Toulouse is 30 minutes away offering daily flights from Paris and London and many other European destinations.
Albi is the same distance but in the other direction with its magnificent cathedral and stunning Toulouse Lautrec museum.
The house is set in 15 hectares of woods and fields offering total tranquillity and privacy. We have a private swimming pool (12m x 6m) totally fenced which is in the sun all day. There is also a large pond, again fenced, full of fish. However, if you prefer the shade, stroll through the shaded tracks in the woods or sit under the enormous oaks and let us treat you to drinks!
Our Chambre D'Hote has 5 bedrooms - Two doubles, one triple and two family suites, one comprising a triple room and a twin room and the other a triple room, a single room and two bathrooms - perfect for Granny or a Nanny!. All are with ensuite bathrooms including shower and bath. The bedrooms are all beautifully decorated with antique and French furniture and the bathrooms are all different ranging from ultra modern in style to traditional.
Our guests have available for their use their own sitting room with a huge fireplace, a library of English and French books, TV and DVD player (with a huge selection of DVD's) and stereo system with CD player. Also available is internet access via WIFI free of charge.
The house is available for rent on a weekly basis which includes all five bedrooms, plus a pool house bedroom, private use of the pool and the opportunity of having meals cooked or even prepared if it is a barbeque. Prices are available on application.
Outdoor activities are endless ranging from walking, horse riding, cycling, fishing, tennis and even skiing is only 90 minutes away. For the less adventurous just relax around the pool and enjoy the peace of the French countryside.
Table d'Hotes (literally translated meaning at the host's table!) is either served in our beautiful dining room or, when it is warm, on the shaded terrace overlooking the pool. Dinner is on a table d'hotes basis that is to say only available for people actually staying with us and at a fixed price for a set menu.
All meals are prepared and cooked using fresh local produce and vary from regional, to further a field and even international. The price for an evening meal, consisting of a starter, main course, cheese, dessert and coffee together with house wine included is €24 for adults and €10 for children (10 years and under). Children under 3 are free.
