La Cachette close to Sarlat
La Cachette is situated in an elevated position over looking the village of Grolejac, with wonderful views across to the Dordogne Valley. Close to medieval Sarlat and Domme and short drive to the riverside villages of La Roque Gageac and Beynac. Rocamadour is approximately an hour by car. Picturesque bastide towns, chateaux, grottes with underground river and cave paintings are just some of the many attractions this lovely region of France has to offer.
Locally Grolejac has 2 restaurants within walking distance (one on the lake), a large lake which is safe for swimming with a sandy beach, an excellent cycle path with bike hire in season, canoe hire on the river Dordogne which winds its way past the village and a tennis court. There is a golf course and horse riding facilities close by.
La Cachette offers 2 large double rooms (one with additional single bed) with exposed beams and seating. Both our rooms are named after 2 of the local chateaux:
Montfort: Large double with views down the valley and a large private shower room.
Fenelon: Large double (with additional single bed) and an ensuite shower room.
Our generous continental breakfast is served on the terrace or in the beamed salon where there is a log burning fire out of season. Guests have use of a sunny terrace which is a lovely place to sit, enjoy a glass of wine, and take in the view. There is also a shady, terraced garden to relax in.
Rates: 50 Euros per room, per night, including breakfast. For third person sharing Feneon there is an additional charge of 25 Euros.
We have wifi Internet access available.
Due to the garden being terraced we regret we cannot accommodate children.
There are 4 airports within a 2 hour drive at Limoges, Bergerac, Toulouse and Rodez. All offer low cost flights and car hire.
By car we are approx 40 mins from the A20 autoruote, junction 55 Souillac.
