Fréderique and Jacques fell in love with this 1950's architect built house in the heart of the Minervois region and decided to convert it into a guest house.

To insure you of a comfortable stay , there are 3 climatised and personalized bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, or, if you are looking for a more romantic and unusual type of accommodation go for « La bohème » our authentic Prague caravan.

Former galerists, Fréderique and Jacques will share with you their collection of contemporary sculptures and works of art.

As soon as you arrive, you will be welcomed by a majestic magnolia. You can take a peaceful and relaxing stroll under the huge cedars in the park.

You can book for a « table d'hôte » meal combining authentic local produce savours (foie gras, farm poultry, stream water trout...) and the regions best wines (Minervois, Cabardès).

Our bedrooms

Our three bedrooms are decorated according to different themes and offer various accommodation capacities. All bedrooms have air- conditioning.

The « Clos du Moulin » has a private car park. Guests can use our bikes and ride along the peaceful country roads surrounding the village.

Breakfast is a delightful moment, home made pastry and jam are served on the terrace or in the veranda from 8.30 am.
All our bedrooms are non smoking.

We also offer a self catering bohemian caravan. Even when sedentary, a caravan is a permanent invitation to travel and escape...a place where every dream is allowed. Traditionally, a caravan has always been and remains a sacred and respected place. Caravans used to be burnt when their owners died (Indian custom). So caravans dating from the beginning of the century become extremely rare. « The Bohème », an authentic Prague caravan (1920's) with it's oiled oak panelling and bevelled mirrors offers comfort and peace to spend an unusual restful and magical stay.

An adjoining chalet decked by a restful wooden terrace, provides the modern comfort you will need such as a bathroom with toilet and a self catering kitchenette. The Boheme caravan is situated under the huge trees in the park to offer you a perfect peaceful holiday.

We are located in village conveniently situated at a 20 minute drive from the medieval city of Carcassonne and 50 minutes from the Mediterranean sea. Villeneuve Minervois is a welcoming village nestled in the foothills of the black mountain at the exit to the Clamoux gorges, on the road leading to the giant chasm of Cabrespine. The main street « promenade des Fossés » shaded by its row of centenary plane tree is a freshening oasis in summer.

To discover : dolmens, windmill in activity (guided tours), Isarn d'Aragon 12th century tower . « Mardis de Villeneuve », musical evenings in July and August. Truffle markets in winter (themed stays). Numerous hiking and biking trails departing from the village. Possibility of eating out in the village (Inn, pizzeria and bar). Tennis courts. Golf at 18 km.

The Minervois is a vast amphitheatre bordered by the Canal du Midi in the south, the Montagne Noire in the north and the medieval city of Carcassonne to the west. These are amongst the most ancient Mediterranean vineyards, vines were planted since Roman times and the name « Minervois » comes from the ancient city of Minerve. The region is also known for it's excellent olive production thanks to the cooperative cellars in Bize Minervois.

Plains, hills and scrublands form this famous wine region full of interests: menhirs and dolmens, pre-romanesque chapels, romanesque abbeys, dry stone huts, or works on the Canal du Midi. Away from it all, the Minervois is an invitation to explore and discover authentic places of interests, and encounter local people who actively work to preserve this type of tourism and laid-back lifestyle.
