Alastair & Elizabeth welcome you to their chambres d'hotes, set in peaceful and comfortable surroundings in Cazaux Villecomtal, within the Gers, Gascony, Midi Pyrenees region. The converted Old School (ancient ecole), being on the top of a hill, has magnificent views of the Pyrenees and also stunning surrounding countryside.
We can offer 3 double 1 twin bedrooms room, all en suite, 2 guest lounges, spa room, all our rooms are to a high standard, we also have large terraces and gardens all are for the use of our guests.

The converted Old School (ancient ecole), being on the top of a hill, has magnificent views of the Pyrenees and also stunning surrounding countryside. It is in a quiet village only 7 Km away from the attractive market town of Marciac and 15 Km away from Mirande. It is within easy access of the many pretty bastide villages of the Gers and the dramatic mountains and villages of the Pyrenees.The area has an enormous amount of history and is unspoilt and unpolluted. The chambre d'hote is surrounded by local wildlife. Our attractive garden with many shrubs and trees surrounding the house has wonderful views over the L'arros valley and dramatic southerly views of the Pyrenees range.
The Old School (ancient ecole, in Cazaux Villecomtal and surrounding areas are a very relaxing place, the whole of the region is renowned for its leisure activities.

Cycling
For the more energetic there are many hills and valleys are only an hour away are the Pyrénées. Cycle routes include the Tour des Pyrénées Atlantiques, Randonnée de l'Armagnac, Bigorre Aragon, la Ronde des Mousquetaires, Circuit Intérieur des Landes, le Tour des Landes and the Raid Pyrénéen.Bikes available for hire on request
Fishing
The area includes France's finest salmon and sea-trout fishing, whilst river trout can be found just about everywhere. Plenty of coarse fishing too.
Golf
There are many golf courses within the Gers region. The greens and fairways are permanently green, the soil base is of varying mixtures of rock, blue clay and sand, all retain and trap the moisture throughout the year.
Lourdes
The holy town of Lourdes is the one of the world's centres of pilgrimage and is within easy driving distance of Cazaux Villecomtal. Here, millions of pilgrims gather to pray at the foot of the Massabielle grotto. Open all year round with numerous museums and free entry to the various masses and processions which take place between Easter and the Rosary Festival, it is a place unlike anywhere else on earth.

Marciac
Is a fortified town just a few kilometres from Cazaux Villecomtal. Founded in 1298 by Philippe le Bel, this interesting town hosts the famous summer jazz festival every year in mid August and attracts visitors from all over, including some of the greatest jazz players in the world. Marciac offers various monthly concerts from October to May.
The Natural History Museum and the 14th century church in the style of a cathedral is also worth visiting, along with Marciac lake which covers 30 hectares with electric boats, wind surfing, and fishing etc. Marciac also has a market on Wednesday mornings, where you will find a range of regional produce.
How to get to The old School, Cazaux Villecomtal.
We are situated just off the D38 approximately half way between Marciac & Villecomtal sur Arros . Coming from Marciac we are in the valley about 5 kilometres after the village of St Justin, turn left at the sign for the village of Cazaux Villecomtal, at the top of the hill turn right, we are situated just past the village hall on the left hand side.
Villecomtal sur Arros is on the N21 which is the main road from Auch to Tarbes, from there take the D38 towards Marciac just after you leave the village of Malabat turn right towards Cazaux Villecomtal, at the top of the hill turn right, we are situated just past the village hall on the left.

Cancellation before 5 weeks refund of deposit less 10% administration charge (minimum charge 15 euros)
Cancellation after 5 weeks no refund of deposit given.
