Maison Esmeralda Chambre/Table D'Hote & Gite

Each season in Biert has its own charm…spring brings the wild flowers and sunny days; summer is glorious and hot; in autumn the colours are wonderful and the days still warm; winter, with its crisp clear days, makes this the perfect base for skiing or to admire or walk in the glorious snowy mountains.

There are numerous well marked walks or cycle rides (bike hire can be arranged) just a step out of our door...there's no need to take the car. Fishing, horse riding, climbing are just a few of the other immediate activities. The lively village of Massat is just 5 minutes away, with shops, bars, restaurants, etc. During summer there are many local fetes, events etc and the wonderful town of St Girons offers music festivals, craft fairs etc,

Kayaking, donkey treks and many other activities are a short walk away and places of interest, such as bat caves, huge markets, wonderful old towns and mountain villages are all available nearby.

For the lovers of skiing, Guzet Neige Ski Station is 20 minutes from us and cross-country skiing is even closer

Further afield we have Toulouse, Carcassone and Andorra; Spain is just a stone's throw away.

Our Maison de Maitre is set in pretty gardens leading to our riverfront where you can picnic, paddle, fish or just enjoy this glorious river.

We offer two types of accommodation:

Bed and breakfast in lovely, large bedrooms with wonderful views and comfortable beds. All bedrooms have private, or ensuite bathrooms. Two bedrooms have double beds and the third has a double bed and a single. Our fourth bedroom offers 3 single beds and is ideal for groups of friends. Further beds can be made available for children. Our comfortable lounge is at your disposal, with satellite television, DVDs and a large choice of books.

We strive to use local and seasonal produce and our great breakfast consists of homemade muesli & preserves, croissants, delicious bread, fruit, coffee etc. Table D'Hote is also available. Our home-cooked menu is influenced from across the world; from Indian cuisine such as Onion Bhaji and Prawn Bhuna, to Thai chicken red curry with Sweet corn fritters and sweet chili sauce starter, or Italian: Spaghetti, linguine or risotto.

Our comfortable Gite is suitable for 4/6 people and consists of a fully equipped kitchen/diner, lounge (with a convertible canapé), shower, WC, The Gite offers 2 further bedrooms- one with a double the other 2 singles. A private terrace with furniture, bar-b-que is also available for your use. Table d'hote is available on request.

Clothes washing facilities and Internet access are also available.
