Escape to Charente is a luxury Chambre d'hote - B&B - set within the beautiful Charente countryside. The accommodation has been tastefully converted from our 200 year old Charentaise barn situated in the hamlet of Bourdelais St front and is centrally located ideal for visiting Angouleme, Cognac, Poitiers and Limoges.
At Escape to Charente you will have full use of the facilities we provide, these include - a large swimming pool, children's play area, free mountain bike hire.
Our B&B is an ideal place to stay for those who are interested in classic cars as we have an annual vintage car rally at the nearby city of Angouleme. The rally 'Circuit des remparts' is every September (normally around the 20th) and is a three day event. Anyone can take part in this very well organised event, which celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2009.
We are also within an hour from the world famous city of Cognac, famous for its Cognac ( brandy ) the region of Charente is also well know for the local tipple called 'Pineau'.
You can visit us by road, we are about 7 hours from Calais or you can fly arriving at the following airports: Angouleme-Cognac, Poitiers or Limoges. Other airports within two hours are Bordeaux and La Rochelle.
