We offer a spacious Family Room which has the possibility of sleeping a family of five. The room has a double bed and a beautiful single canopied bed with the possibility of two further single beds or a cot. The room is ensuite with a power shower, wc and sink. Tariff from 59€ per night

We offer our Charentaise Room: – a double room with a double bed and opportunity for a further single bed or cot. It is ensuite with both a power shower and an elegant antique roll top bath, wc and sink. Tariff from 35€ per night.

Prices are inclusive of continental breakfast of orange juice, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, croissants/french bread, cereals, and a range of teas, coffee or chocolate. Breakfast can be taken in the dining area or on the sunny patio.

The rooms are all elegant and spacious and come equipped with crisp white linen sheets, embroidered pillowcases and towels. The rooms also have satellite television - french and english and drink making facilities. They overlook our very beautiful sunny garden, the River Dive and the local forest to the rear of the property.

New for Summer 2011 we offer a two bedroomed apartment with two double beds and possible further single bed. The apartment has a bathroom, separate lounge/ dining area, private entrance and garden / patio with tables and chairs. Price from 350€ per week.

Le Grand Saule chambre d'Hote is based in Moncontour on the border of Vienne and Deux Sevres - a pretty historical village with an XIth century donjon The town has all amenities including a bar/pizzeria, bank, post office, supermarket, boulangerie, dentist and doctor - all within walking distance of Le Grand Saule Chambre d'Hote.

There is a water sports lake to the other side of the village with a family beach, mini golf, childrens play area and an auberge. There are numerous forest and riverside walks around Moncontour – which in summer is also surrounded by fields of sunflowers and melons.

Moncontour is in a good position if house hunting, taking a short break; if visiting Futuroscope or Poitiers; visiting the famous Loire Valley chateaux; or to use as a stopover if travelling across France

Looking for tranquillity but near to all amenities - this has the best of both worlds. The area is surrounded by forest and riverside walks, is great for fishing, nature, visits to vineyards and chateaux.
