B&B at a rustic Moulin

Le Moulin Labit is a pre- French revolution Mill on the banks of the river Graine where guests can enjoy breakfast/or an evening BBQ on the riverside terrace surrounded by wildlife, not to mention the odd goat, sheep or chicken! We are not a major business, we offer only one room - hoping visitors feel relaxed enough to treat the place as their own.

We are 40 minutes from Limoges City and airport, the historic city of Angouleme, famous for its vintage car rally and the beautiful village of Rochechouart - just over the border in the Limousin - is only five minutes away. Fishing, horse riding, and canoeing facilities are very close by and swimming at the lakes of the Haute Charente is only 10 minutes by car.

The village of Chassenon itself which has a local shop, bar and boulongerie is the home of the Cassinomagus Roman Baths, one of the most important Roman archaeological sites in Europe.

From our area the Limousin and the Dordoyne are within easy driving distance and the west coast is approximately three hours by car. The memorial village of Oradour Sur Glane is 20 kilometres from the Moulin, as is Confolens where it's world famous music festival is held every August. Throughout the summer months there are night markets, festivals, music evenings and many other events in all our surrounding villages. There are dozens of excellent restaurants to choose from, with excellent, very affordable menu du jours and fine evening dinning on offer. The local bars range from 'rustic' French to the occasional 'English' bar.
