Bed & Breakfast at Les Sapins
Les Sapins lies nestled in the Limousin countryside. Only 20 minutes from exit 26 on the A20 and 35 minutes from the historic town of Limoges famous for its fine porcelain and now boasting 2000 years of history. We are a 5 hour drive from the main ferry ports and this makes us an excellent break from driving if you are wishing to venture further south.
We have large gardens at the back and front of the house and plenty of parking space. We welcome children and dogs.
Near the house there are two carp lakes, fully equipped and with the added benefit of a BBQ, small chalet with cooker etc and a boat, Fishing is available all year round without a permit
We can provide evening meals upon request and packed lunches.
Le Boucheron, which translates as the woodman or forester, is set amongst the lush forests of the Limousin and is surrounded by the most beautiful lakes which offer opportunities for swimming and various water sports eg water skiing etc.
We are a 40 minute drive from the memorial site of Oradour sur Glane, a village that was the victim of the Waffen SS at the end of World War 2, when all the residents were murdered and the village razed to the ground. The village is preserved in the state that it was left in on that fateful day and is well worth a visit, A very humbling and evocative experience.
We are in an area of outstanding natural beauty and a plethora of wildlife can be seen every day. Many species of birds from the eagle to the song thrush, tiny Pipistrelle bats, ducks and rabbits galore. We occasionally see a fox sunning himself in the nearby fields and of course there are many deer in the area.
Our nearest large town is Ambazac with its bars and shops.
We are 40 minutes from Limoges airport and lifts can be arranged to and fro.
All our rooms have ceiling fans and tea and coffee making facilities. On warmer days, and we do get a lot of them, you can dine outside if you so wish.
The Scottish owners look for to meeting you and sharing a few glasses of wine with you.
We are open all year round and during the colder months we invite you to sit around the fire and relax.
