Delucci Retreat Portugal
Delucci Retreat is located in a quiet mountain hamlet in the heart of Central Portugal just 5 minutes from the town of Miranda do Corvo and 30 minutes from the University city of Coimbra.
It is the perfect setting for walking, cycling, swimming, running, mountain biking or simply just relaxing. The owners have designed the accommodation with cyclists and triathletes in mind offering bicycle and wetsuit hire in addition to guided rides and optional evening meals. Don't be put off if you are not athletic as the retreat is a perfect place to escape from it all and experience the real Portugal.
It is a perfect base for walkers as there are forest trails leading directly from the house to the top of the mountain (25-30 mins) where you will experience spectacular views of the surrounding area. From here you can continue walking to a 'praia fluvial' (river beach) where there is a freshwater swimming pool, picnic area, cafe and restaurant and then return to the retreat via the road through sleepy mountain villages. There are many other officially marked walks in the region, which are easily reached by car.
The house offers bed and breakfast accommodation in the form of 3 en-suite twin rooms, 2 of which have direct access to the courtyard. All rooms have hairdryers, tv with integrated dvd and ipod docks and free WiFi access.
The town of Miranda do Corvo (4 km) has many amenities, such as cafés, shops, banks, restaurants, bars, pharmacies, weekly market and annual festivals.
There are many places of interest and sightseeing opportunities within easy reach and the Atlantic or 'Silver' Coast is just 45 minutes away.
