BedandBreakfast La Escapada Sitges

Sitges is a small pittoresque village by the sea, surrounded by hills, at approximately 35 kms south from Barcelona, with a good and cheap connection by public transport to this interesting metropolitan city, with its many architectural influences by the artist Gaudi.

Going Out
Sitges offers a great variety in night–life, amongst which in summer an open–air dance–club (l‘Atlantida) at 10 mins from the centre by bus (free transport from Hotel Calipolis, situated at the boulevard), and there is a wide choice of restaurants and bars. Ofcourse you can also find the typical Spanish “tapas–bars” here. This village is known for its gay–friendliness and thus also offers, besides its sun/sea/beach tourism and its cultural wealth, a rich night– life for the gay–tourist.

Carnival
In February you can celebrate the traditional and popular carnival, for which Sitges is well–known, and in Augustus there's the local “Fiesta Mayor” with numerous activities during the day and at night. Once a week there is a market, where you can taste the local atmosphere. There are numerous white sandy beaches at a short walking distance from the town–centre, amongst which several beaches which offer you a number of activities and “chiringuitos”, and a gay–beach. There is the possibility to rent chairs and umbrellas.

Sitges has a micro–climate, which means that there’s lots of sun and very few rainy days per year.

Direct bus connection from Barcelona airport to Sitges (MON–bus)
Travel time approximately 50 mins – 1 hour.
Train connections from Barcelona airport to Sitges:
Get off at the first stop (El Prat de Llobregat), take train with destination Vilanova or St. Vicenc, get off at station Sitges. Travel time approximately 35 mins.
