A charming historic seaside village, on the northern shores of Auckland City with only a 10 minutes ferry trip to the heart of Auckland. The Village offers a wide range of historic character and New Zealand originality, follow the Old Devoport Walk mapped route of historical sites and colonial architecture and with its numerous cafes, restaurants and stores in a seaside atmosphere.
You can choose to explore Devonport by foot or alternatively take a ride on the Town & Country Clydesdales. A covered wagon pulled by legendary Clydesdales horses who starred in Hercules leaves from outside the ferry terminal.
The Navy museum houses a collection of memorabilia relating to New Zealand's naval heritage. It is a celebration of the Navy in New Zealand, although the main emphasis is on the Royal New Zealand navy. Amongst the treasures on display are medals, uniforms as well as a large collection of photographs, depicting the Navy through the years.
The winding tunnels, fortifications and great harbour views from the North Head Historic Reserve make this another fascinating area to explore - located just past the end of King Edward Parade all within walking distance from SEASAW.
Auckland's Waitemata Harbour is one of the most beautiful in the world with the
Ferry Terminal offering direct transfers across to Auckland City where day trips to the nearby islands of Waiheke with its renowned vineyards and Rangitoto's inspiring volcanic cone are readily available.
Safe Swimming is easily accessible at Narrow Neck and Cheltenham beaches.
