Cairnryan House Bed & Breakfast

Cairnryan House, a traditional Scottish home built in 1894 situated adjacent to the shore of Loch Ryan with uninterrupted views across the loch to the Irish Sea.

We are just 500 metres from the Cairnryan ferry terminal and less than five minutes from the neighbouring Stranraer terminal. P&O ferry sailings from Cairnryan offer the shortest crossing to Ireland.

We offer guests a range of comfortable non-smoking bedrooms with deep pile carpet, 4 doubles, 2 family sleeping up to 3 (no infants or children under 13), 3 twin rooms and 3 singles. All of the rooms are equipped with en-suite bathrooms alongside a range of room amenities including central heating, TV, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities to make you feel at home. Some rooms have an additional seating area and CD/DVD player. All rooms have a dressing table / work desk for business stopovers.

Additional facilities include a guest lounge with wireless internet, evening meals by arrangement in our licensed restaurant, alongside a beautiful front garden and off road car parking for up to 10 cars.

The area provides plenty to do for all ages, from day trips to Northern Ireland (we have extensive information on Belfast), day excursions to Ayrshire, Burns Cottage, the home of Robert Burns, Golf at Turnberry, and boat trips to Ailsa Craig, home of the Curling Stone.

Head south and you'll find the beautiful Mull of Galloway, Port Logan site of a famous tropical botanical garden and the fishing village of Portpatrick.

Go east and you'll find more gardens at Castle Kennedy, Glenwhan, villages of interest such as Creetown, the town of Newto Stewart, Whithorn birthplace of Christianity in Scotland at ST. Ninians Cave, the Isle of Whithorn used for the filming of the 60's horror classic 'The Wicker Man' and Glentrool Forest where you can spot Deer.

As for parking, you need not worry about parking as unlike many other parts of Scotland where you need to pay to park and return to your vehicle when your money is about to run out to avoid a hefty fine, you don't need to worry in Dumfries & Galloway. There's free parking everywhere and in Stranraer and Dumfries too where there is a disc parking scheme in force in some streets. All you need do is obtain a disc, free from the tourist board or from many local shops and display this in your windscreen, setting the time when you have left your car and noting the maximum stay on the blue parking sign that will be displayed nearby.
