Ravenstone House B&B

At Ravenstone House we offer an upstairs en-suite room with king size bed. Your bathroom contains both a shower and a bath. The room has colour TV, video and clock radio as well as tea and coffee making facilities.

Our guests are welcome to come and go as they please and can enjoy the conservatory and extensive garden. A full Scottish breakfast is offered along with other choices and is served in the conservatory.

We are situated between Luce Bay and Wigtown Bay on the Machars peninsula in Galloway. Amidst rolling pastures, four miles from Whithorn and six miles from Port William, we are an ideal location to relax, unwind and explore this beautiful area.

Both walkers and cyclists are very welcome and we have ample cycle storage and can provide packed lunches.

This area of SW Scotland has something for everyone. If it is peace and tranquillity you seek there are plenty of quiet unspoilt beaches and countryside to explore. For those who want activities such as walking, cycling, bird watching, fishing and golfing these are all near at hand.

There are several specialist gardens and nurseries in the area, which take advantage of the Gulf Stream. Scotland's most southerly point, the Mull of Galloway, is only an hour away.

Just four miles away is the Royal Burgh of Whithorn. It is the early cradle of Christianity in Scotland. You can follow the Pilgrim's Way to the shrine of ST Ninian, Scotland's first saint, and view ancient stone crosses in the museum.

Wigtown, Scotland's booktown, is only 10 miles away. Dominating the centre is the old County Building with the library, small museum and viewing room where Ospreys can be viewed via a CCTV link.

Britain's largest local nature reserve is part of Wigtown Bay and visitors are welcome to use the bird hide at the old harbour where many bird species can be seen at various times of the year.

Just outside Wigtown is Scotland's most southerly whisky distillery at Bladnoch.
