Rhins of Galloway Hotel style B&B
Rhins of Galloway has been under current ownership since May 2004, and although it has the scale and design that is expected of most hotels, it offers the friendliness and prices that are more usually associated with a quality Guest House or B&B.
Bedrooms are decorated with classic simplicity using contemporary furniture, whilst the bedroom corridors and other communal areas provide a mix of antiques and modern design.
We offer a range of singles, doubles, twins & fanily accommodation units. We also have a Garden Flat with its own entrance, which is offered as an alternative to the main bedrooms.
Although not allowed within the main hotel, house-trained pets are very welcome by prior arrangement.
Please note that the building is entirely non-smoking.
The mild climate has given rise to several botanic gardens in the area, including Logan House and Gardens, and Logan Botanic Garden, advertised as Scotland's most exotic garden, both of which are about 25 minutes drive away. Castle Kennedy, with its glorious walled gardens and monkey-puzzle avenue is less than 10 minutes away, and the magnificent Culzean Castle and country park is about a 45 minute drive.
Please be aware that some local gardens are not open during the October to February period - individual opening dates are usually detailed on their own websites.
With beautiful views the length of the coastline, the area is ideal for walking, bird watching, botany, and general relaxation. True sandy beaches are close to hand at nearby Luce Bay, with the picturesque fishing village of Portpatrick being a fifteen minute drive away.
Logan fishpond, a fully restored Victorian Fish Larder, in the site of a blowhole which formed during the last ice age, is around 20 minutes away.
Galloway Forest Park, Britain's largest forest park at 300 square miles, is only half an hour away.
Just 1 mile south of Cairnryan ferry terminal, and only 4 miles north of Stranraer terminal, we are perfectly placed for travel with both P&O and Stena Line (our Location maps page shows the placement between Cairnryan and Stranraer). The short distance to either is along the main A77 coastal road, enjoying spectacular views along the way.
Opened by Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester in 1943, the building itself has had a variety of uses, boasting a history that can make a place feel very unique and special.
