Galloway is beautiful Scotland in miniature, with Lochs, mountains, forests, mile upon mile of sea-shore, rolling countryside, the magical Belties, Castles and wonderful scenery.
Add to that the clean fresh air, and a very warm welcome you cannot beat this place.
Did I mention the wildlife? Ospreys, swans, otters, owls, deer, the list goes on and on.
Almost forgot the Golf, 10 courses in 20 miles, or is it 20 courses in 10 miles? Either way there's a wealth of great courses here. Links and parkland to challenge you all.
Walking, till your legs drop off. Galloway Forest, the UK's largest park, and the others here, packed with hills, are a walkers paradise.
Wild fowlers come here to shoot the birds.
Birdwatchers come to the largest Local Nature Reserve here on the Bay to shoot the birds too, only with cameras!
Goodness me, you can do off road driving, even drive a tank or two, how about that.
Then there's the fishing! We're surrounded by coast for the sea fishermen. and then we're sandwiched by Salmon and Trout rivers to the north and south of us for the course fishermen.
The excellent Bladnoch whisky distillery is just a mile away.
The Wigtown Golf club is a mere one minutes walk from our drive.
Oh and of course we are the National Book Town of Scotland and boast a dozen or more bookshops.
Need I tell you more, or should you perhaps come here and find out for yourself.
Go on treat yourself to the best kept secret in the UK, the part most folks miss as they whistle up north past Gretna, so turn West instead, and end up in glorious Galloway!
Hope to see you soon
