Carlton Guest House Accommodation in Portpatrick

The Carlton Guest House is situated on the sea front of Portpatrick, overlooking the beach and harbour. The guest house has been run by Alasdair McGregor for over five years to a high standard and many guests return to stay the next year.

The guest house has seven bedrooms, three of which have a sea view and six have en-suite facilities (the other has a private bathroom). There are four double bedrooms, one twin bedroom and two family rooms. Each room has a television and tea and coffee making facilities. On a clear day you can see the Mourne Mountains of Northern Ireland.

Breakfast is provided in a communal dining room, again with sea views. Choose from cereals or a full Scottish breakfast accompanied by the usual array of beverages (tea, coffee, orange juice, etc.). Although evening meals are not provided, the Carlton is a stone's throw away from Portpatrick's excellent restaurants and pubs.

Portpatrick is a picturesque fishing village with a lot of character Artists and photographers are drawn to the village because of it's natural and man-made beauty. It is the starting point of the Southern Upland Way (which extends all the way to Cockburnspath in the Borders) and attracts many walkers. It is also right next to two excellent golf courses. Portpatrick offers some delightful gift shops and a post office. There is also a putting green.

Portpatrick is also only a short drive from such attractions as the Logan Botanic Garden, Logan Fish Pond and the Mull of Galloway. All of them well worth a visit.
