We cater for vegetarians and are also Dog- and Pet-Friendly. Bikers and cyclists are welcome and we are ideally located for cyclists visiting both Mabie and Dalbeattie Forests in search of 7 Stanes action!

Our modernised and renovated accommodation will help you to immediately feel at ease and relax. This will allow you to concentrate on simply enjoying your time in this quiet, scenic and Dark Sky status area.

Within easy reach are the villages of Southerness, Kirkbean, Southwick, Sandyhills, Colvend, Carsethorn, Rockcliffe, Kippford and New Abbey.

On good clarity weather days, superb views of the Cumbrian Lakeland hills can be enjoyed from the coastal route starting from the small hamlet of Drumburn (good viewpoint well worth a stop). On our Scottish side, we of course have the dominant coastal hill of Criffel, its eye-pleasing joy and grandeur viewable almost constantly from the A710 from Dumfries. A good if not boggy walk from New Abbey for those in search of a bit of a stretch.

There are also plenty of freshwater fishing opportunities around New Abbey, one of the nearest being in Kirkbean, namely Kirkhouse Fishery on the road to Carsethorn. There are tennis courts at nearby Southwick.
