Craiglemine Cottage B&B
Craiglemine Cottage B&B is an extended and modernised stone built cottage. We offer one double/family room and one twin room, with tea and coffee making facilities, radio and hair dryer. Although the cottage is centrally heated throughout the lounge has a cast iron stove in a stone fireplace providing a cosy warmth for the autumn and winter evenings.
Located 3 miles from Whithorn in open countryside with wide views across to rolling hills, the Cottage is well placed for you to access a wide range of activities such as walking (hill and coastal), cycling (local bike hire is available), fishing (sea and river) or golf (9 and 18 holes).
If you would like something more relaxing there is 6000 years of history to be explored with nearby standing stones, stone circles, ruined castles and the ancient Royal Burgh of Whithorn. There are also many beautiful formal gardens and birdwatching locations along the coast. Wildlife is everywhere including hares, roe deer, buzzards, butterflies, bats and owls. We have a bat detector which allows you to hear the ultrasonic squeaks as they hunt at night.
The cottage is also near the Galloway Forest - UK's first Dark Sky Park with wide open views of the night sky. We can even give you an introduction to astronomy.
