Gowanbank House Bed & Breakfast
Gowanbank House family-run Bed & Breakfast is a grand Victorian country house in the heart of the Irvine Valley, Ayrshire.
Gowanbank is surrounded by 7 acres of lush gardens and woodlands, and is within walking distance of the beautiful villages of Darvel and Newmilns. Built in 1890, by wealthy textile baron, Alexander Morton, Gowanbank retains its period features while offering quality, contemporary accommodation.
All our produce used in the breakfasts are local, and all the bread, oatcakes and baking is homemade. The rooms are spacious and the gardens are extensive, with a large ten seat picnic area and umbrella to sit out under on warm summers evenings.
Located within Ayrshire's rural countryside, Gowanbank is ideally situated to offer a relaxing retreat for holidaymakers while only 15 minutes from the m74 [25 minutes to Glasgow] and 15 minutes from Prestwick International Airport.
Gowanbank House is only ten minutes away from Loudoun Castle theme Park, in Galston, and is a great attraction for families and kids. The Loudoun Golf/ Gowf Club is 5 minutes from the house and is one of the biggest golf ranges in Scotland. Loudoun Hill is 10 minutes from Gowanbank, and offers a great day out to do some light hill walking and to enjoy the spectacular views over the Irvine Valley.
