Dalwhinnie B&B

Dalwhinnie B&B all rooms are en-suite.

Dalwhinnie bed and breakfast is a modern waterside home with ensuite facilities, situated in the beautiful village of North Queensferry. We are on the shore of the Firth of Forth; looking towards Edinburgh & the Lothians, Fife and onwards to the North Sea,

From our lounge and outside deck you can watch sailing boats and ships pass by. During the summer there are a number of Ocean Cruisers that sail by or lay anchor in the Firth. We have seen at one time or another the Princess Line cruise ships, other liners and the magnificent Queen Mary 2.

It's a great place to birdwatch, if you're lucky you'll see puffins, skuas, fulmars, or megansers and wee families of ducks

Or you can just sit and chill.

Our B&B has ample parking and is ideally placed for visiting Edinburgh, there is a train station in North Queensferry that goes directly to the City Centre over the world famous Forth Rail Bridge. We are also just 15 minutes from Edinburgh Airport and 20 minutes from Edinburgh City Centre by car, (Crossing the Forth via the Forth Road Bridge). We are also well placed for visiting Fife and Central Scotland.

We also have for let a self catering property in Edinburgh; it is ideal holiday accommodation close to the centre of Edinburgh and all it's attractions.

All our rooms are en suite with colour TV and VCR. We pride ourselves in having a very friendly and comfortable approach for all our guests and can assure everyone of a wonderful stay in comfortable and tasteful surroundings.

Dalwhinnie B&B is a modern bungalow and enjoys uninterrupted views over the Firth of Forth towards the Inchcolm Island and beyond towards Edinburgh and the North Sea

The Lounge and Breakfast areas are both spacious, airy, and extremely dalwhinnie breakfast room comfortable. Enjoy a full English Breakfast in the breakfast area whilst admiring the stunning views.

On Summer evenings you can relax on the deck and enjoy the peaceful setting, whilst on a winters evening chill in the warm centrally heated living room and enjo watching the ships passing by.

Our bedrooms are centrally heated & delightfully furnished for your comfort.

Hairdryers and tea/coffee making equipment are standard in all rooms.

North Queensferry dates back to before 1046; when the Abbot of Dunfermline awarded a charter to the village to ferry Queen Margaret across the Forth on her way to Edinburgh via St. Edward's Bay. The village is a charming place to stroll about; there's the ruin of St. James' Chapel which is designated as an Ancient Monument. Take a stroll down The Old Town Pier where the Ferry Boats used to sail from & St. James' Harbour.

No one can possibly miss the Forth Rail Bridge that commands the view of all, completed in 1890 it is often described as the Eighth Wonder of the World.

We also have Deep Sea World, Scotland's largest aquarium, a short walk from the house. If you enjoy bird watching, then you're in for a treat as there are a wide variety of birds, from waders to Peregrine Falcons that visit this little village.

There are 3 restaurants in the village to cater for all tastes. The Wee Restaurant is building a reputation as one of the best places to eat in Scotland

Dunfermline Abbey Leisure: Near by there are castles (notably Edinburgh and Stirling) and lochs, museums and battle sites - Stirling Bridge (William Wallace) and Bannockburn (King Robert the Bruce), which all Scots love to talk about, and Culloden, which we prefer to forget, where visitor centres give a good resume of the history

Culture
Dunfermline: Try the Carnegie Hall for shows, film and comedy, and there's a multi film complex showing the latest films. Visit Andrew Carnegie's birth-place museum, discover how the great American-Scot lived and worked, or Abbot House, Dunfermlines' oldest house. Visit Dunfermline Abbey where the Kings and Queens of Scotlands past are buried
Kirkaldy: The Adam Smith Theatre offers a variety of programmes, and the Kirkaldy Museum and Art Gallery gives you an opportunity to view life as it was lived in Fife..

Swilken Bridge. St. Andrews Walkers & cyclists are catered for with the spectacular Fife Coastal Path & Cycle Way immediately on our doorstep. Other outdoor activities are well provided for; especially Golf (there are over 50 golf clubs within Fife, including St. Andrews): Fishing (sea, river, & loch) : Football Amateur Athletics.

We're near Edinburgh and all that city has to offer like the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, Mary Kings close & Ghost Walks

Rugby: Internationals Magners League games are played at Murrayfield. Haymarket Station is a 15 minute train journey away!!
