Avalon is a modern, spacious, high quality Guest House and is ideally situated to be your base for touring the beautiful Highlands of Scotland. Our location on the main A82 tourist route means you are within easy reach of many places to visit such as the famous Loch Ness, just a few minutes away, Fort William, Isle Of Skye, Cairngorm National Park & Ben Nevis Mountain Range, to name but a few. And not forgetting many historic sights such as Inverness Castle, Urquhart Castle, Cawdor Castle & Culloden Battlefield.

So whether you desire a relaxing trip taking in the magnificent Highland scenery & culture or an active break skiing, golfing, walking or cycling you will find we have everything close by to accommodate your holiday needs.

We have ample off road parking and are within close walking distance of Inverness City Centre with a great variety of bars, restaurants, shops & Eden Court theatre.

You will receive nothing but a warm & friendly welcome from both of us, a comfortable stay and a hearty breakfast to set you up for a days exploring!

Our guest rooms are spacious, comfortable and well equipped with everything you'll need for a pleasurable stay. Five of our rooms have bright and fresh en suite shower rooms and one has its very own private shower room facilities. All have fluffy white towels and complimentary toiletries. Bathrobes & slippers are available on request as well as various other items easily forgotten.

We pride ourselves with our cleanliness and attention to detail. Each room has a TV with remote control and Freeview facility for extra channels, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer (hair straighteners also available), radio alarm clock. We have wireless internet access if you have a wireless enabled laptop with you. We ensure you have everything you need whether your stay is for work, rest or play!!

We offer a delicious and hearty breakfast, freshly cooked to order from the varied menu and served in the dining room between 8-9am. Earlier breakfasts are available if you have a days exploring to get under way! We cater for most dietary requirements and if you need anything in particular please advise us at booking so that we can ensure we can provide you with what you need.

Our breakfasts start with fresh fruit juices, a selection of cereals, fresh fruit salad and yoghurts before getting down to the cooked selection of sausages, bacon, eggs (however you like them), tomatoes, mushrooms, beans and black pudding in any combination you choose. Accompanied by brown or white toast and a freshly brewed cup of tea or fresh ground coffee. We also offer fruit and speciality teas.

To relax, you are welcome to use our guest lounge with comfy sofa and chairs. We have an extensive range of books, magazines, puzzles and games. We provide daily national and local newspapers.

You can watch the TV with Freeview facility for more channels or enjoy a DVD. We also have a good range of maps, guides and brochures for you to plan your days out and get the most out of the time you spend in the Highlands! We would be delighted to help you plan your trips and we can recommend the best places to visit and we have a Guest Recommendation book where our previous guests have detailed their favourite places to visit and also local bars and restaurants where they have enjoyed a great meal and perhaps a dram or two! The northern end of Loch Ness is about 5 minutes drive from Avalon. A drive down one side and back the other is a good day out for sight-seeing. Loch Ness and the legend of 'Nessie', the famous Loch Ness monster has inspired the imagination of young and old for generations & makes Loch Ness one of the top travel destinations for visitors to Scotland.

Loch Ness offers the visitor much more than a chance to catch a glimpse of 'Nessie', the Loch Ness monster sheltering in the depths by Urquhart Castle. Loch Ness lies in an area of outstanding natural beauty, where water, forests, moors, mountains and scenic glens combines peace and quiet with an exciting sense of adventure & discovery, at any time of the year.
