Crossal House
A warm welcome awaits you at our comfortable, homely, traditional house. We have two bedrooms both with lovely views, a double room with ensuite shower and a twin room with its own private bathroom.
Both rooms have a generous hospitality tray, mini fridge, hairdryer and a good selection of books. The cosy residents sitting room has SKY TV, videos, and a large selection of books and maps relating to the area.
Packed lunches and drying facilities can be provided if required.
Crossal House is centrally located on the island with extensive views of the Cuillin Mountains. Just 2 miles from Sligachan, Skye's premier walking and climbing centre, and the Sligachan Hotel which now produces fine ales from its own 'Cuillin Brewery'
A five minute drive will take you to the village of Carbost, home to the world famous Talikser Distillery, Skye's only producer of malt whiskey. Historic Dunvegan Castle, home of the clan McLeod, and the islands capital, Portree, are both within 15 minutes drive.
Whether you are walking, climbing, bird watching or a keen photographer the area has something for all. Glen Brittle, the most picturesque of glens, which runs under the shadow of the mountains, ends at the sea, and a stunning beach where it is possible to encounter the rare Sea Eagle.
There are also forest trails to follow, a scenic walk to the Fairy Pools at Coire na Creiche, or for the more experienced, a journey up into the mighty Black Cuillin.
For those wishing to venture into the hills, we recommend the use of a mountain guide to make your day more enjoyable and safe. Please ask for further details
