Val and David Gwynne welcome you to Collenan House, their comfortable family home in a quiet location on the outskirts of Troon. The house has views over the nearby countryside and towards the Isle of Arran.

We are a few minutes from Troon railway station and the P&O Irish ferry terminal and less than 10 minutes from Glasgow Prestwick International Airport. There is easy access to the A77/M77 to Glasgow and beyond and to the A78 Ayrshire coast road.

Local Amenities

Troon has an attractive sea-front, with superb wiews of the Isle of Arran and the Carrick Hills. The harbour and yacht marina provide additional interest. Troon enjoys a wide range of eating-out facilities, including Italian and other speciality restaurants, traditional cafes and pubs, while quality dining is also available at local hotels and village inns.

There are many features of interest in the local area, including the Robert Burns Heritage Park, Dundonald Castle (home of the early Stewart Kings)and the restored Irvine Harbourside. Culzean Castle and Country Park is a half-hour drive to the south and Kelburne Country Park a similar distance to the north. Largs, with its Vikingar Museum and ferry to the beautiful island of Cumbrae, is within easy reach.

The area is home to a number of well-known golf courses, including three public courses in the town and the Championship course at Royal Troon.

Rooms & Facilities

Double room with en-suite shower room, overlooking the garden and with views towards Dundonald Hill. £45.00 per couple per night, including full Scottish or Continental breakfast.

Family room with 2 single beds (or large double) and cot-bed; a folding-bed and travel-cot are also available. Adjacent family bathroom with spa- bath and shower. £22.50 person per night (£25.00 when used as a single). Children between the ages of 5 and 15, £12.00 per night. There is no charge for under-fives.

Both rooms are centrally-heated and have tea and coffee-making facilities, colour TV and hair-dryer. An iron and trouser-press are also available, on request.

A small single room is also available at £20.00 per night, sharing the family bathroom

Guests have exclusive use of a comfortable sitting room on the ground floor, with living-flame gas fire and small library.

Breakfast is served in the dining-room and consists of full Scottish or continental breakfast, with choice of menu. Special dietary needs can be catered for by arrangement.

For the comfort of all our guests, we operate a non-smoking policy indoors.

Off-street parking is available. Early departures catered for.

How To Find Us

By road, follow the A78 Troon bypass and turn off onto the A759/B746 towards Troon. Continue through the traffic lights and take the first turning on the left (Deveron Road). Continue throught the estate, turning left into Spey Road, left into Tay Road and right into Leven Road; we are the last house on the right.

From Troon, follow the A759 Dundonald Road, turning left into Central Avenue (traffic lights) and thence via North Drive and Earn Road to Spey Road, right into Tay Road, then as above.

From Glasgow Prestwick Airport, take the A79 northbound, turning left at the second roundabout onto the A78, then as above.
