Carriage House Bed & Breakfast

Amish buggies, award winning food, beautiful rooms and hospitality are the amenities of the Carriage House Bed and Breakfast of Kalona. We have robes in both rooms as well as chocolates.

We are blessed in celebrating 18 yrs of service in 2008. The Carriage House is an acreage, but appears as a traditional farm. We live in the farmhouse and have the Carriage House as our guesthouse.

You will love the peacefulness here. There are 2 private rooms in the 2nd story of the Carriage House. Each room includes a king bed, private bath ensuite, air conditioning and a full breakfast. The Hydrangea Bush room has a clawfoot bathtub as well as a separate shower. It also has a daybed with trundle for an extra person. The Canopy has a double size Murphy bed for an extra person or 2. The bath in the Canopy features an original clawfoot soaking tub. Enjoy!!

Breakfast is served in the 1st story of the Carriage House or delivered to your room.

We are Mennonite Christians and would love to introduce you to our faith.

The Kalona Historical Museum, about 2 miles away, hosts a quilt show and many buildings and historical memorabilia from the area. There are many antique shops, gift shops, bakeries, Amish countryside shops and restaurants in Kalona. Tours can be arranged thro the Kalona Historical Society or Kalona Chamber of Commerce. The University of Iowa is 20 minutes away in Iowa City. The Herbert Hoover museum, Amana Colonies, Kewash Nature Trail and several malls are within 30 minutes.

Golf and a public swimming pool are in Kalona as well as a new library.
