Located midway between the Columbia River Gorge and the top of Mt. Hood, we are centrally located for numerous year-round outdoor activities.
A wide variety of culinary experiences can be savored from several nearby restaurants, and a growing number of wineries, providing still another reason to explore our area.
Four individually unique guest rooms are decorated with beauty, comfort and care. Each room has a private bath, three of our rooms feature fireplaces.
There is also a wonderful hot tub, to 'soak' in the magnificent mountain view.
A full breakfast is served at your convenience from 8:00 to 9:30.
WiFi and a guest DSL computer are available for those who need to stay in touch!
The Great Room is the perfect place to settle in for an afternoon of conversation, bird watching or watching a movie you have selected from our video tape collection.
The Library contains many of Diane's books on architecture and English History. It is a cozy place to curl up with a good book, fire in the fireplace and while away a winter afternoon.
Enjoy the feel of the outdoors while lounging in the Garden Room. It is a transition from the dining room to our outdoor spa, yet a cozy place to curl up with a book or to take a nap.
The upstairs hall can be enjoyed with a cup of coffee or tea while you peruse the guest activity resources available. You may add a pin for your home town to our world visitor's map. Use the telescope to watch birds or see climbers and skiers on Mt. Hood.
Four individually unique guest rooms have been created, each with wide-plank oak floors, original artwork and family pieces.
All rooms have private baths with tub/showers, TV and VCRs. A large collection of videos is available to guests. Each room also has a pair of cozy robes for guests to snuggle up in, or use to walk down to the outdoor jacuzzi. A guest refrigerator on the main floor is stocked with soft drinks and juices.
In the upstairs seating area, guests can make a fresh cup of coffee or tea 24 hour a day, read through information about nearby attractions and activities, or heat up your leftovers in the microwave, another guest refrigerator here can hold your wine or 'doggie bag' from dinner.
Within an hours drive of Mt. Hood Hamlet B&B lie world-famous year-round skiing on Mt. Hood, nearby fishing, miles of hiking trails and whitewater rafting in the Columbia River Gorge.
Cultural and recreational opportunities abound in Hood River County; scenic parks, mountain bike trails, windsurfing and sailing in the Columbia, historic tours, festivals, museums and art.
The Columbia River Gorge offers a wealth of scenic wonders, river views, waterfalls and wildflowers, snowcapped mountain peaks, evergreen forests and farmland.
The fall foliage is among the best in the Pacific Northwest. A scenic drive or a train ride are two options to help you enjoy the breadth of all this beauty.
Our climate is mild year-round and the average annual precipitation is 22 inches.
Previously known for growing luscious pears, apples, cherries, peaches and other fruits, and for the view of the majestic Mt. Hood, Hood River has become the destination of choice for wind surfers from around the world.
The winds from the Columbia River Gorge, best during the middle of the day, create ideal conditions for riding the waves.
The Mt. Hood Scenic Railroad offers trips through the beautiful apple and pear orchards in our area. The circa 1910 railcars are pulled by a diesel locomotive along the route of an old timber and fruit train line through the scenic valley between the Columbia River at Hood River and Parkdale. The seasonal opening of the train is during the Hood River Blossom Festival, the third weekend of April, and you can even obtain your Christmas tree in December.
Many orchards and vineyards in the Hood River Valley encourage people from all over Oregon and Washington make an annual trek in the fall to the many farm stands along the Fruit Loop to stock up on fresh apples and pears.
The area now has its own Columbia Gorge Appellation for its unique wine-growing region, with several wineries to tempt your palate.
