Helen's Cozy Corner B&B

This 1850's home once served as a hotel, providing comfort for Pennsylvania canal passengers and crew, the canal went through our back yard. There is a portion of the canal restored. On a few occasions during the summer it offers rides. It is open for visitors.

We offer three cozy guest rooms, two with private baths. Easy to find, we are located on the square of bucolic McVeytown, PA, along the scenic Blue Juniata River which offers great fishing, one block from routes 22/522, our back yard joins the route. Midway between Lewistown and Mount Union.

There is a grocery store, two restaurants, a gas station with Minit Mart, hardware store, bank and a Post Office within walking distance . McVeytown is a very interesting historic town in which to take a leisurely stroll. The B&B has pamphlets and a wall hanging describing points of interests.

The streets are used for bicycling too, we have a shed to where you can store your bike. We are close to Penn State, hosting many football fans, making for an interesting breakfast, which is served at the guests convenience until 9 A.M. Also nearby is Juniata College and Lake Raystown, if not familiar look Raystown Lake up on the 'net'.

They have boating, fishing, picnicking and much more. Other close interest points are antique markets, Port Royal Speedway, Big Valley Amish Community, in season farmer's markets and golf. We are within 15 to 20 minutes of Indian Cavern, along the famous Spruce Creek , Linclon Caverns and Penn's Cave aren't far from the B&B.

We are in the midst of great hunting and fishing territory. If you like mountain (ridge) climbing there's plenty of that around, but not during hunting season. It's a beautiful fall setting here among the autumn leaves and many guests enjoy watching the farmers do the spring planting, especially the Amish.
