The world-famous Centre for Alternative Technology at Machynlleth, is within an hour's drive, and the seaside resorts of Aberystwyth, Barmouth, Harlech, Conwy and Aberdovey all make an easy-to-reach day out.

Most exciting of all perhaps, Wales' highest mountain, Snowdon itself, can be reached, and walked, in one day. If you do make it to the foot of Snowdon you will find the Electric Mountain visitor centre an unforgettable experience.
