The Rhos Chalet

We are a family run small public house. The proprietors are both native to the area so have a large knowledge of local area, walks etc. We will also include a short scenic drive and local history lesson for those interested. Bar meals are served and all meals are home made with vegetarians catered for.

The area is known for it's outstanding beauty and peacefulness. It is an area popular for walking and bird watching. Red Kites have been re-introduced in the area and there is a red kite feeding centre at Rhayader which is nearby. Activities can also be arranged locally such as horse riding, clay shooting, 4 wheel drive off roading and bike scrambling.

We are close to the Elan Valley which is loved by visitors to the area and are only one hours drive from the beautiful Welsh coast at Aberystwyth.

Our central position in mid Wales makes us an excellent stop for visitors who want to explore mid Wales for a few days. If you are walking in the area we are happy to do pick ups and luggage drops and also packed lunches if required.

The village has a local shop and post office and a small sports centre which is available for badminton, short mat bowls etc. There are larger sports facilities in Llandrindod Wells and Newtown.

There is a bus service, which runs every couple of hours and visits the nearby towns of Newtown, Llandrindod Wells and Brecon, with connecting buses onto larger cities. The nearest train station is in Llandrindod Wells.
