The Green Door B & B
The Green Door B&B is situated in Llanfyllin which is a relatively small town in the Cain Valley, has local shops to cater for all provisions as also a leisure centre, gym and swimming facilities. The Valley boasts plentiful walks including moors, wood, and forest public footpaths. There are three local Public Houses, one of which also provides meals.
Other local attractions include:
Lake Vyrnwy - explore the history of the 'submerged village', the aqueduct, and the international sculpture trail. Visit the 'bird hides'.
Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall - the highest waterfall in Wales or England (to the top of which is walkable), is one of the seven wonders of Wales.
Bala Lake provides not only water activities but the journey alone is a memorable experience - an awesome drive!
Llangollen - bustling and busy; lots of interesting and varied shops; view Llangollen Bridge (another one of the seven wonders of Wales) and 'Swallow Falls' by way of a canal tow path walk. Walk the Trevor Aquaduct - again, an unrepeatable experience. Approach Llangollen 'the back way' via Glyn Ceirog where pleasure pursuits include: quad biking, clay pigeon shooting, and pony trekking - early booking essential.
Castles: Powys, Ruthin, and Chirk.
Chester, Wrexham, Shrewsbury, Oswestry, and Welshpool are all within easy travelling distance and afford both 'retail therapy' and 'exploration' pursuits! Liverpool, Manchester, and Birmingham are also within easy travelling distance for 'city experiences' or internal/international flights.
