Clevedon is a beautifully refurbished period family home, conveniently located in Hungerford High Street. Hungerford High Street is a pretty tree lined street close to the Kennet & Avon Canal and main line railway to Paddington, Reading, Newbury and Newbury Racecourse.
Clevedon is decorated to a very high standard and has 2 double bedrooms both ensuite. This historic house has records dating from as far back as 1344, when John O Gaunt granted the people of Hungerford grazing and Fishing rights.
Breakfast is carefully prepared and served with old fashioned style. We use Fairtrade and local produce whenever possible.
Please help yourself to cereals, fruit, yoghurt, croissants, toast, and fruit juice from the breakfast bar followed by any of the following:
• Scrambled egg with smoked salmon
• Eggs, bacon, mushrooms, sausages, tomatoes, potatoes, black pudding and beans
• Selection of teas and coffee
Hungerford is 3 miles from the M4 motorway Junction 14. It is less than an hour from, Salisbury, Bath, Oxford, Winchester, Avebury, Stonehenge and the Cotswolds. Southampton and Heathrow airports are approximately 55 minutes away.
Hungerford has a main line railway service to London Paddington, Reading, Newbury. Newbury Racecourse is 2 stops away. It is also 15 minutes from Marlborough.
Ramblers - There are many pretty walks surrounding Hungerford and Freemans Marsh is of 'special scientific interest' which is renowned for is Bird and Wildlife.
The Kennet and Avon - There is a canal path that passes through Hungerford, which has delightful walks and a cycle route. You can also enjoy a trip on the canal on a Narrow Boat.
Cycling - The Severn and Thames route passes through Hungerford (Gloucester - Newbury).
Horse Racing - Newbury Racecourse is 10 miles away or 2 stops on the train. Lambourn the Valley of the Racehorse is only 5 miles away.
