At the White Rose

Caroline and Kevin Clewer have been running the White Rose since the beginning of 1997. Since we bought the house, we have added en-suite facilities, fitted Sharps bedroom furniture and have had the house redecorated from top to bottom!

We have built up an excellent reputation and find that many of our guests return time and again to enjoy the delicious breakfasts, the comfortable beds, the warm hospitality and the great value for money that we offer!!

We think that the Lake District in Cumbria is the most beautiful area of England to visit - at any time of year!!

For many of the foreign visitors that travel around the UK, the Lakes remain their favourite destination.

Easy to get reach by car, bus or train, the Lake District countryside will remain etched in your memory long after you leave the area.

The White Rose in Windermere was built in 1817 and was constructed from the local Lakeland slate.

Now, nearly two hundred years later our visitors comment on the relaxing atmosphere of the house, the lovely en-suite bedrooms, the tasty English breakfasts and - most importantly, the warm hospitality.

Only a 5 minute drive from Lake Windermere, visitors to the White Rose can reach all parts of the Lake District National Park within 30 minutes.

At the White Rose, we have five very pretty en-suite bedrooms.

Bedrooms 1 and 2 are on the first floor of the house. They are en-suite double bedrooms which can be used for single occupancy at quieter times of the year.

Bedroom 3, again a first floor bedroom, is our superior double bedroom: as well as the en-suite facilities, the bedroom also has a large comfy sofa, widescreen TV and a DVD player.

Bedroom 4, on the second floor of the house, has a double bed and a single bed and can be used as a double, a twin or a family bedroom for three people. With lovely views to the fells and distant mountains, it is a very popular bedroom!!
(Please note that due to the nature of the property, we are unable to accept children under the age of six years.)

Bedroom 5 is a second floor en-suite double bedroom which is light and airy and has lovely oblique views towards the mountains.
All the bedrooms at the White Rose are well furnished with co-ordinating fabrics, Sharp's fitted bedroom furniture and all those little extra touuches that will ensure a great stay in the Lake District.
Our delightfully sunny breakfast room is a lovely place to enjoy the delicious breakfast - and only the tastiest local produce is used.
The guides and maps at the house will give you all the information you will need to explore the Lakes and Caroline can book any of the great local bus tours available in the area.
Windermere village is just a five minute stroll from the house and has an excellent selection of pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops.
