Bramble Down House B&B

Bramble Down House is situated just south of Horam in Chiddingly Road. We have two B&B rooms, one double and one single, both having a private bathroom/shower room. The house is modern and comfortable.

We try to be as eco-friendly as possible with LED lights, rainwater harvesting, waste recycling, condensing boiler etc.

Eastbourne, Hailsham, Heathfield and Tunbridge Wells are within easy reach by car and bus. Other places of interest are Batemans in Burwash, Michelham Priory, and the castles of Bodiam, Pevensey, Lewes and Herstmonceux. Hertsmonceux also houses the Obsevatory Science Centre.

Eastbourne has many shows, exhibitions and festivals throughout the year including the tennis in June and the Airbourne airshow in August. The Cuckoo Trail, which is part of the Avenue Verte London to Paris cycle route, runs close by. There are many interesting walks and footpaths in the area, many of the walks pass by pubs.

The nearest pub is within walking distance and there are many other pubs and restaurants a short drive away.

We are 1 hour and 20 minutes from Dover and 45 minutes from Gatwick Airport by car. To London takes 1 hour from Tunbridge Wells station.

The nearby Heathfield Agricultural Show takes place at the end of May.
Many of the other villages and towns have a show or village day during the summer.

For the lovers of steam, apart from the Bluebell Railway, there are the Lavender Line, The Kent and East Sussex Railway, Spa Valley Railway and Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway. There are also many Steam Fairs including the famous one at Hadlow Down.
'The Giants of Brede' (Triple Expansion Steam Pumping Engines) are not far away.

The centre of Ashdown Forest is only 30 minutes drive away.
Originally a deer hunting forest in Norman times, Ashdown Forest is now one of the largest free public access space in the South East. It is a great place for walking and enjoying spectacular views over the Sussex countryside and is known the world over as the 'home' of Winnie-the-Pooh.
