The Walled Garden Bed & Breakfast, Barnsdale, Rutland
Set within a two-acre Victorian kitchen garden, the Walled Garden Bed & Breakfast is a self-contained cottage, totally refurbished in 2010, situated on a south facing slope, in open countryside, 300 metres from the banks of Rutland Water. Barnsdale is three miles from the market town of Oakham and seven miles from the historic town of Stamford. Both Oakham and Stamford offer excellent shopping opportunities, cafes, restaurants and bars.
The Walled Garden is inside the internationally renowned Rutland Water Nature Reserve and is an ideal location for Cycle Hire (we are on the Rutland Water cycle route), Fly Fishing, Sailing, Walking and Bird Watching.
The cottage has been tastefully refurbished and decorated to offer a very comfortable and relaxing stay. It has a large bedroom with king-size bed, sofa & tv, dining area, kitchen and newly fitted bathroom.
We offer a continental breakfast, which includes freshly made bread, local/homemade jam, marmalade, cereals, fruit, juice, tea and cafetiere coffee; ready for you to help yourself at your leisure.
We have secure off-road parking.
The Walled Garden Bed & Breakfast is a short walk from Barnsdale Lodge Hotel, which has a superb restaurant and bar, and borders Barnsdale Hall Hotel and Country Club which offers swimming, fitness and health spa, bars, restaurants, golf and tennis. The Walled Garden Bed & Breakfast is a great place to stay if you are attending a wedding or event in Barnsdale, Oakham or neighbouring villages.
Rutland is a county full of beautiful villages, country pubs and offers walks for all abilities.
The Walled Garden B&B is a short drive from Egleton Nature Reserve, which hosts the annual Egleton Bird Fair. This year it will be held from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd August and we can offer a 4 night self-catering stay. Please contact us for further details.
Burghley House, Stamford is just 7 miles from Barnsdale. The Burghley Horse Trials will be held from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th September this year. We are happy to discuss parking arrangements should you wish to stay and bring a horse box.
