There has been a mill in Allscott since before the Domesday Survey until the last one was taken down and melted to help the Second World War effort. This historic property has been extended and beautifully refurbished and now provides luxurious accommodation in the beautiful Shropshire countryside. Set on the banks of the River Tern, the property has its own fishing rights to this section of the river and is a haven for wildlife and bird watching.
The three bedrooms available are tastefully decorated and furnished, as well as being very spacious. Elaine's attention to detail has provided a decor worthy of a magazine yet the bedrooms remain cosy and welcoming. Each has a flat screen television, safe, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities. An iron is available on request as is a travel cot and high chair. The bathrooms are equally luxurious and the towels and bed linen provided are of top quality.
You also get the use of the spacious and welcoming lounge with its comfortable leather sofas and huge fireplace and woodburning stove. The room features a beamed ceiling a plasma screen television and leads into the dining room.
If you prefer something smaller then you can cosy up in the Orangery. Again furnished with leather settees it provides an ideal place to relax with a book or to watch the outside. The site is visited by numerous wildlife and birds including a kingfisher who visits every afternoon. Recently evidence of otters has been discovered and there are frequently swans and geese on the river. Allscott Mill offers the ideal location to recharge your batteries and escape the stress and strain of everyday life.
A full traditional Shropshire breakfast is provided featuring locally sourced produce wherever possible.
There are plenty of walking routes nearby such as the Wrekin and the Shropshire Stiper Stones and for keen cyclists Ken has arranged secure overnight storage for bicycles in an outbuilding. The outside of the property is protected by CCTV and their is plenty of free parking at the property.
Ken and Elaine are also offering special offers to brides and their families who stay the night before their wedding, with champagne breakfasts, photo opportunities and the services of a Brush Stroke trained beauty therapist.
