Burcott Mill Guesthouse
Burcott Mill nestles between the Somerset Levels and the Mendip Hills. This is a family-run, family-friendly B&B.
It is located just one mile from Wells (England's smallest city with its famous Cathedral & Bishops Palace), two miles from Wookey Hole Caves and within easy reach of Cheddar (Caves & Gorge), Bath, Glastonbury (Festival, Tor & Abbey), Street (Clark's Shopping Outlet), Weston-super-Mare (Victorian seaside resort), Taunton (Somerset's County Town) and Bristol.
Burcott Mill is a working water-powered flourmill, reconstructed by Devon craftsmen in 1864. There has been a mill on this site for over 1,000 years. Few such mills operate commercially today.
You are welcome to visit the mill during your stay. We now specialise in the production of 100% organic wholemeal flour. We use the flour to make the bread served at breakfast in the Grade II listed Miller's House.
Between Easter and October our small tearoom is open at weekends and serves homemade cakes, sandwiches and cream teas.
For children we have a large adventure playground and a number of small friendly animals and chickens.
We have six rooms suitable for singles, couples and families. All rooms have flatscreen digital TVs and dvd, radio, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities.
We offer baby listening and can provide cots, bed guards and highchairs for our younger guests.
Pets are welcome in one of our ground floor suites by prior arrangement. We have one large ground floor suite, which has facilities for disabled guests including wheelchair access to bedroom, shower room and guest dining room and emergency intercom to the main house.
There is a large off-road car park.
We are located directly opposite The Burcott Inn, a fine country free house offering excellent evening meals. Within walking distance there are two others pubs/restaurants. Your hosts Louise and Steve French look forward to welcoming you.
