La Pierre Plantee

La Pierre Plantee stands on the crossroads of a walking route. This is marked by a standing stone, which the house is named after. It is the last house in the hamlet Bazalgue and the surrounding area has many views across the countryside. It is very quiet location with little passing traffic, and many opportunities to observe nature.

We can accommodate up to 6 persons, with 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom and 1 bedroom with two adult bunk beds. There is a shared bathroom for the guests, and the use of the communal lounge with TV and dining areas. There is a large garden with a substantial terrace area where breakfast can be taken or for sunbathing and relaxing.

There are many places of varied interests to visit around the local area. The famous 900 year-old pilgrim town of Rocamadour is full of history and interesting architecture. 25min drive.

Visit the ancient viscounty capital of Turenne, with its spectacular views and colourful gardens. Call in at the red village of Collanges-la-Rouge, with its quiet lanes and unusual stone buildings. 25mins drive.

Even further back in history is the troglodyte dwellings at the Grottes du Roc de Cazelle. Plus the amazing caves of Lacave and Padirac. 35min drive.
Also many colourful markets for local products, at Martel 10mins, Sarlet 35mins and Souillac 15mins, and there is much more.

There are many activities to take part in around the area. Like canoeing on the Dordogne river, walking or cycling the many local routes. For the those into diving we are close to Europes best cave diving area. Also paragliding over the Dordogne valley with the local school, or quad bike tours along scenic routes. Also flyfishing and guided horseback rides.

We are an easy 10 min drive of the main A20 ext 55 from Paris or Toulouse, there are also regular trains into Souillac. The local airports are Limoges, Bergerac and Rodez.
