Ty Bara Kozh
Location
Ty Bara Kozh is in the centre of Saint Gelven, a very pretty village nestling in stunning countryside above the Lac de Guerledan, between Mur de Bretagne and the medieval village of Gouarec, just off the N164 (clearly signposted). We are in easy reach of Saint Malo, Dinard, Rennes and Brest.
Our Rooms
We have four double bedrooms, three with en-suite facilities. Our rooms are furnished to provide luxury and comfort, with 100% cotton bedlinen, duvet covers, bath towels and bath robes. Each room is also furnished with tea & coffee making facilities, free WiFi, Satellite TV (French and European), DVD & CD players.
Things To Do
There's always lots to do right on our doorstep, from walks in the local forests and woods, including along the banks of the Nantes/Brest Canal, river Blavet and the Lac de Guerledan. You can go sailing, boating and water skiing on the lake, swimming, or relaxing in the cafés, bars and restaurants around its shores. Other local attractions in the area of Saint Gelven, range from Neolithic sites: 'aleese couvertes de Liscuis', to medieval: 'L'Abbaye Bon Repos' and 18th century, 'Salle de Forge'. Saint Gelven also hosts, in August, Le Spectacle Son & Lumiere De Bretagne, an amazing production, with a cast of hundreds, horses and hounds, taking us through the historical and mythical events of the region.
Places To Visit
The beautiful towns and cities of Quintin, Josselin, Pontivy and Lorient are nearby. Both Quintin and Josselin are quintessential historic Breton towns. Pontivy, as with Josselin, has a fine Châteaux, open to visitors. Lorient has much to see and enjoy, and has the added advantage of the Lamor Plage, with its fine restaurants overlooking the sea.
Lorient is on the south coast of Brittany, just off the main N165-E60. A modern town boasting charm and splendid attractions, including a 2nd world war submarine base and beautiful offshore islands. The fishing port is amongst the largest in France, and the early worm will get to watch the auction of the previous night's catch.
