In the heart of South-West France, at the gateway to Nérac, ancient royal city in Gascony, we are the ideal starting point to explore this region dear to France's favorite king, Henri IV.
Nérac boasts a beautiful renaissance castle and charming old streets lined with timbered houses. The Saturday morning market, celebrated by Rick Stein, is among the most colourful in France. Nérac is also a port for pleasure boats, with cruises along the river every day in summer.
In the area, there is an abundant choice of leisure activities for young and old alike. The Walibi theme park is 15 miles away. There are hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails. Several horse-riding clubs are active in the region, with horse-riding trips across the forest particularly appreciated.
The area is a paradise for lovers of old stones and picturesque villages nestled in the glorious countryside reminiscent of Tuscany.
The gastronomical delights are similarly renowned: the wonderful variety of red and white wines, duck's breast and liver, melons, prunes, wild game, asparagus, tomatoes.....
It should be of no surprise that Nérac is known to be the capital of the good life.
