Great B&B in the South West of France
In the heart of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, this
XVth century farm, completely renewed, is situated in the centre of the village of Buzy, in front of the attractive ' square of the washhouse '.
Under the banner of the Gites de France, Rolande' house is recommended by numerous guides:
The Guide du Routard, Lonely Planet, The Green guide, The 'Heart Knocks' of Michelin, Bed and Breakfast, The practical Guides of St Jacques de Compostelle, and many other foreign guides
You will appreciate the warm welcome of Rolande and her family: Delphine, Cécile, Thémis and Vincent; you will enjoy the big shaded yard (where you will, if you want to, learn how to play the 'pétanque' after diner); you'll also enjoy the typical regional meals, and you will alternately be able to enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains, or the multiple activities of the region!
We have numerous projects in the short term, such as building a natural swimming pool, and we invite you to check out the tab 'our ecological plans' on our website!
We also propose the Host' Table:
For beginners, you have to know that the meals taken in hosts' table are very different from those taken in traditional restaurants!
The atmosphere is extremely friendly, the owners dine with the hosts, and everybody speaks to everybody! It is the opportunity to meet people coming from everywhere in France (and in the world!), to learn about the habits and customs from Bearn (told by Rolande and her family), to enjoy the products of the farm...
The regional gastronomy is moreover extremely considered, and almost all the products which we serve are from our farm! Our kitchen garden, our animals and our orchard allow us to propose you bio and delicious meals!
During your stay, you will have the possibility to enjoy:
- the famous garbure soup,
- home charcuteries,
- crudenesses just taken out of the garden,
- the duck confit and its zucchini and blue cheese gratin,
- house chicken in onions,
- the roasted duckling and its vegetables,
- home sausages accompanied with our famous piperade,
- farm calf,
- ceps or peppers omelets,
- pork confit and its gratin dauphinois,
- fresh salads,
- excellent cheeses from the region,
- sweet fruits from our orchard,
- and many other home-made patisseries...
