On the first Saturday in September, Braemar hosts the world-famous Braemar Gathering, which attracts over 15,000 visitors each year, including the Queen and royal family.

Scotland’s largest ski centre at Glenshee is 9 miles south of Braemar. Basing yourself in Braemar will avoid the rush of traffic from the south on a sunny winter's day.
