Beinn Edra House B&B
Beinn Edra House is a newly built family run B and B situated in the crofting township of Valtos, 13 miles north of Portree 3 miles south of Staffin.
We are only a 25 minute drive over the Quirang to Uig the ferry port serving the Western Isles where you can make day trips to both Uist and Harris. The house sits 200 metres off the main road and is accessed by its own private road with ample parking.
The house has stunning sea and mountain views across the minch to the Isle of Rona and the mountains of Torridon, from the back of the house there are mountain views of the Trotternish ridge, from the Old Man of Storr to the Quirang. In Staffin, the nearest village there are 2 shops 1 with fuel facilities, there are 3 local restaurants 1 with Internet access.
Trotternish is an ideal location for walking, fishing and sightseeing. The Old Man of Storr, Quirang and Brothers Point are all popular with walkers, for those who like to go fishing there are many places both sea and fresh water, or take a fishing trip from Staffin Pier. The boat does daily fishing and wildlife trips where you may see otters, seals, sea eagles or maybe if you're lucky dolphins and whales.
There are many other places to visit in the local area with 2 museums, Staffin beach where the dinosaurs footprints can be found, the Kilt Rock Viewpoint with its spectacular waterfalls and Lealt Waterfalls.
Other local attractions include Flora MacDonald Cottage at the famous Flodigarry Hotel, the Fairy Glen in Uig, also Duntulm Castle ruins. Valtos is the ideal place to visit for peace and quiet but also having many activities close at hand.
