AnchorLight Bed & Breakfast LLC
AnchorLight Bed and Breakfast is a unique place to stay on beautiful Smith Lake in North Alabama. We believe that we may be the only place where you can actually stay in a room built into the lighthouse itself.
We are a Christian Bed and Breakfast and we specialize in ROMANCE!
The lighthouse is connected to the house but each room is only accessible through your own private entrance. Antiques, flowers, chocolates, cozy robes, 800 ct sheets, and soft lighting help to set the mood.
Enjoy a scrumptious and elegant breakfast for two served in the Lamproom. DTV in both rooms and DVD movies are available in the room. Remember that children also love this place! We can accommodate two children.
Older children will enjoy adventure sleeping in the lamproom on cots and sleeping bags at the very top of the lighthouse! Be sure to check out 'Maggie' the tug. She is an 1947 designed tug.
A tour of the lake on her is included in your stay. Her unique whistle is a much loved part of Smith Lake. We are located 25 minutes from Cullman, Alabama, 1 hour north of Birmingham, Alabama, 1 hour south of Huntsville, Alabama and 2 hours south of Nashville, Tennessee.
Enjoy (on site) swimming, paddleboat, bikes, hiking, firepit, or just relaxing on the decks. The lighthouse has been described by our guests as THE destination. But if you do wish to go out some nearby attractions include: The Space and rocket center, Barber Motorsports museum, Clarkston Covered Bridge, civil war museum, antiques, Ava Maria Grotto, beautiful Natural Bridge, and many, many more sights of interest.
Your hosts are Captain Jon and Maggie Owens. Captain Jon is a retired tugboat Captain and has many interesting stories to tell. Their story along with the story of 'Maggie' the tug can be found on their website.
