At melissa's is a 100 years plus beachhouse located in beautiful downtown Rehoboth Beach. 1 block to the Atlantic Ocean and situated on a quiet street, but readily accessible to dining, shopping and some of the finest restaurants known catering to all types of appetites and whims. A town with activities for the young to the old. A mile long boardwalk and plenty of sand and surf! Couple that with off street parking and you just toss those keys until it's time to go home!
Breakfast is a Gluten Free treat! Celiac & Coeliac friendly. A lovely buffet served from from 7-10 am allows you the luxury of sleeping in. Baked goodies, fresh fruit, waffles and much more get you started.
At Melissa's is a casual beachy B&B with all the modern amenities. There's all one needs for the beach; towels, chairs, umbrellas, cooler, ice and stuff to go in them!
After a beautiful day at the beach, come on back, take a lazy shower out back, sip a glass of wine or a cold beer, doze in the hammock or check out the front porch and watch the rest of the world go by. Enjoy!
Should you wish to do some sightseeing, there are some wonderful towns. Lewes, DE; the first town in the first state. There is access to the Henlopen state Park which houses the renovated Fort Miles. There are animal sanctuaries, biking and hiking trails. Also, you might want to consider a day trip over to Cape May, NJ on the Lewes-Cape May Ferry. Lewes is home to Delaware's only Vinyard, Nassau Valley which has tours and tastings.
Milton Delaware, home to Dogfish Head Brewery (which originated in Rehoboth Beach & the original brew pub is still active) has daily tours (which book out weeks in advance).
Dewey Beach offers water sports on the bay. Surfing, skimboarding, paddle board lessons and rental available. A variety of restaurants and night life activities.
Further south on Route 1, you can visit the the towns of Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island. Along the way, the Seashore state park and visit one of the original life saving stations.
Rehoboth Beach is a 2.5 hour drive to Washington DC, Nations Capitol. Baltimore, Md home to Fells Point, the National harbor and the Aquarium.
Annapolis Md, a beautiful stopping point along the way, just over the Cheasapeak Bay Bridge is home to The US Naval Academy.
Heading North past Wilmington, DE visit Philadelphia, PA, home to the libery Bell and a rich part of history.
Keep going north and arrive new York City. The city that never sleeps! Take in a show on Broadway, walk through Central park, or just soak up the history of a city with a history not to be forgotten.
Whether you mill about the beach and small town of Rehoboth, go on daily trips along the coast line, you will find adventure and a peacefulness that is none other. There is a magic to this wonderful place and it's one that will always stay with you.
