Les Yourtes Charentaises

Bioclimatic, my house and my 3 yurts are located at the border between Charente and Charente-Maritime, 7 kms from the famous Cognac and brandy, 15 minutes from the motorway between Paris and Bordeaux (A10), exit Pons or Saintes and 35 minutes from the seaside (St. Palais sur Mer, La Tremblade and Royan just below).

This area dear to my heart welcomes hundreds of thousands of tourists every year, who after discovering the sandy beaches of the Atlantic coastline, explore the hinterland, where breathing the sweetness of life, bathed in a mild weather, and taste good food.

I was born in Cognac, I grew up in Salignac, where are now found my yurts.
A yurt is a Mongolian nomadic tent, made of wood, canvas and rope.

I chose the yurt
First because the yurt habitat is the only world heritage of UNESCO still used by nomadic peoples.
Then for its low ecological footprint: no foundation, no concrete, not cement, it can be removed in a few hours.

To enhance the ecological data, I chose not to take them in Mongolia (the ecological cost of transport is astronomical, the little trees in the steppe are enough to make yurts for the local population, not face the effect of fashion in France) I preferred to make the positive relocation, namely, to produce a product from abroad in France. Moreover, my yurts are adapted to the West European climate, and after-sales service is provided (eg after a storm ...). Workshop of Frênaie, in the Marais Poitevin tailored them for me, with ecological materials (linen canvas interior, wool hemp insulation, ground wood chips compressed protected by 5 layers of varnish ecological, double-glazed entrance door in oak)

The 3 bathrooms, grouped in an octagon brick, work with a solar water heater, the coating procedure were handy made.

The yurt is an original and ecological alternative to the traditional B&B accommodation.

Come sleep in the yurt for a romantic weekend or a holiday in an unusual environment. Overlooking Vineyards and countryside, on the edge of a small Charentais village, Salignac / Charente.
